Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi (Latin scientific name: Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi), also known as Camellia baicalensis root and Tujin tea root, is a perennial herbaceous plant of the genus Scutellaria baicalensis in the family Lamiaceae. It has thick fleshy rhizomes, hard papery leaves, lanceolate to linear-lanceolate shape, and racemose. The inflorescences are terminal on the stems and branches. The corolla is purple, purple-red to blue, the filaments are flat, the style is slender, the disk is ring-shaped, the ovary is brown, and the small nuts are ovoid. The flower and fruit period is from July to September.
